15 wedding morning tips from real couples who've been there already
We asked over on our Instagram if anyone had wedding morning tips to share and we loved the replies so much that we’ve popped them on here for you to find them too.
Tip number 1:
“Don't worry if you get pooped on by a pigeon like I did! Hair & MUA can work miracles!” Becky
Tip number 2:
“A handhold and conversation around a door is great way to calm down a nervy husband! “- Imogen
Tip number 3:
“We had our formal photos before the wedding ceremony so we didn't have to rush off after the service!”- Vanessa
Tip number 4:
“Take 5 minutes to yourself.. a moment to ground yourself before the joyful chaos starts! “- Joy
“Take a moment every so often to not talk to anyone, just look around & take it all in”- Clare
“Take time for little moments with each person if you can in that morning, however small.” - Emily
Tip number 5:
“Eat breakfast and snack before the ceremony. You might be nervous and excited & not feel like eating but it's usually a long wait to the Wedding Breakfast!” - Becky
Tip number 6:
“Try to relinquish all control in the morning - if possible for you & all your bridal party! Let the venue, wedding planner, friends etc. set up decorations & arrange things for you. You have enough to do getting ready!” - Becky
Tip number 7:
“Have more than 1 photographer so they're not running around like a headless chicken between you & the groom & so you don't worry about certain photos being missed.” - Becky
Tip number 8:
“If you have small children in your wedding party let them get ready away from you & then do a reveal for them once you're ready. It's chaotic enough with everyone else milling around you.” - Becky
Tip number 9:
“Don’t be afraid to break ‘convention,’ when it comes to the big reveal. Do whatever. My brothers were there for mine and it was wonderful. “- Emily
Tip number 10:
“Don't sweat the small stuff! Things are bound to go wrong but it's likely only you'll notice. Your guests won't know that there's a decoration missing from a table or that a song plays at slightly the wrong time.” - Becky
Tip number 11:
“Stay bloody local to your venue - it gives you precious extra time!” - Emily
Tip number 12:
“Make sure you have more than one MUA, if your Bridal Party is larger and budget allows because this kept everything running so smoothly and everyone got to feel really special.” Emily
Tip number 13:
“Make sure you remember the flowers”- Charlotte
Tip number 14:
“Don’t get married early, if you can help it! Although I would’ve given a lot for another hour in some ways, this time together at the house in the morning was so special. The best. I didn’t see a lot of the gang for the rest of the day, it was bloody wild.” - Emily
Tip number 15:
“Embrace the pre-makeup photos because these were some of my favourites from the day. Natural is amazing too. - Emily
and a little bonus tip:
“Turn up. That's all you need.” - Sam
