DAVID & KATY’S WEDDING
In the run up to their wedding Katy’s Dad hadn’t been very ill and in hospital. Right up to the last moment they didn’t know own if he’d be able to join them for the wedding. It was such a joy to have him there to walk his daughter down the aisle and he was even able to make his speech.
Katy got ready at home with her bridesmaids and sweet little daughter Emily. Big brother Maison went with his Dad to get ready with the groomsmen.
The church was packed out with lots of people ready to bless this family. David and Maison were waiting at the front of the church for Katy to walk down the aisle. The service was full of contributions from friends and family: the band, the preacher and those doing the readings are all precious friends (for us and the couple). Maison is such an affectionate boy and it was lovely to see him cuddling his parents throughout their vows.
At the end of the service there was time to chat and lots of homemade treats. It was drizzling outside but inside there was space for some family photos before heading off to the reception.
Staff at the Belfry were waiting to greet the newly weds with umbrellas and take them inside. There was time for some photos with Katy and David (and Maison joined us on Malcs shoulders!) then we made our way to join the guests taking their seats for dinner.
The speeches were extra emotional given all the family had been going through, but so heartfelt and funny! Dinner was a delicious hog roast with all the trimmings. In the evening the band set up alongside the DJ to keep the music going for the keen dancers. The photo booth was right next to the dance floor for some extra laughs. There was fun and dancing right to the end of the night.
