LEE & ANNIE’S WEDDING
Lee and Annie's wedding reception took place in her parents' back garden but this is no small at home wedding!
There were topless Turkish men at the start of the day- the guys getting ready. Once they were dressed they headed to the bar for a drink before setting off to the wedding... and spent the taxi ride singing Motown songs.
Meanwhile Annie and her girls got ready at her family home. The ladies had hair and makeup done in the kitchen, and watched through the window as vendors set up in the garden. We absolutely love these bridesmaids dresses. The vintage wedding car came to take Annie and her parents to the wedding.
Their civil ceremony took place in a small room at Hertford Castle. Then in the sunshine happy guests threw confetti and lined up for some photos. It was a real scorcher of a day so there were lots of other people enjoying the park, delighted to spot a wedding taking place. The wedding party were served drinks in the castle grounds then we jumped on the Routemaster for a scenic ride back to Goff's Oak.
A sneaky bonus of having your wedding celebration at home is that you get to recreate your childhood first day at school photos on the porch. Annie wanted to grab a moment to do that with her parents- how sweet! In the back garden friends and family were filling their glasses at the 'pimp your Prosecco' station. The DJ started as soon as we arrived and set the tone for a beautiful afternoon in the garden. There were lawn games and a cute sausage dog entertaining all the guests.
Inside the marquee was decorated with a glamorous black and gold theme, with gorgeous florals and their wedding cake to complete the room. There was a fantastic Cypriot feast and fun speeches.
After dinner guests chatted in the garden with drinks in hand. Annie threw her bouquet from the balcony for the ladies gathered below. They cut the cake (made by their lovely friend Becky) then started the dancing with their first dance and a father daughter dance.
The dance floor filled up quickly with guests and the smoke machine. There were lots of requests from the crowd (including fun Cypriot songs) and a wonderful atmosphere. Everyone got on the dance floor for the last dance to send Lee and Annie off in their taxi.
