MIKE & RACHEL’S WEDDING
We’ve been to so many weddings with Rachel and Mike, it was so exciting to finally see their day arrive.
We met the girls at the hairdresser where there was Buck’s Fizz to start the day. The ladies headed back to Rachel’s parents after they’d had their hair and makeup done. Somehow time flies by on wedding mornings but the girls had time to get into their dresses, pick up their flowers and stop for a few pictures.
We jumped into the wedding cars to head to the church… then would you believe it we broke down on the way there! Shout out to our knight in shining armour who came to pick Nom and the bridesmaids up (thanks Josh!).
In the meantime the guys had been out to breakfast and walked back to Mike’s folks, got into their suits and were ready and waiting at the church.
The service at Bethel was great as always, we always enjoy the strong singing and preaching… and the heaps of cake afterwards in the church hall.
There was time for photos as everyone arrived at Isla Gladstone. It was a beautiful, crisp autumn day but a bit chilly so everyone was glad to head back in the warm for speeches and dinner. Mike & Rachel had chosen genius favours to celebrate their love of Coca Cola, engraved bottle openers and glass bottles of coke for everyone.
We snuck outside the newly weds for some photos after dark in Isla Gladstone’s beautiful bandstand. When we came back in it was time for the evening reception complete with sweetie table. Mike and Rachel cut their cake and opened up the dance floor with their first dance. The girls were keen to join in to really get the dancing going. There’s plenty of space at Isla Gladstone so other guests headed to the bar, sat in the lounge and got really silly in the photo booth. Out the front the Party Bus was ready for lots of soft-play fun for the kids and even a few adults.
At the end of the night guests lined up outside ready to wave sparklers and cheer as Mike & Rachel left for their honeymoon.
