ellen and Dom’s WEDDING at fazeley studios, digbeth
We’ve fallen madly in love with these two and this wedding. Look at it’s dreamy perfection.
We got on straight away with Ellen and Dom at their engagement shoot over our shared Scottish and Welsh connections, and love of Irn Bru. That’s why we love meeting our couples before their weddings!
wedding morning preparations
Ellen and the girls got ready just round the corner from our house, so that was a nice easy start to the day.
Malc was with the guys at Dom’s parents’ place. And Dom was getting a fresh trim by one of the guys, to be ready for the wedding.
“There aren't many words to describe how incredible these pair are on the day, they aren't just incredible at photography, they spoke to every single one of our guests and created a story of the day from the beginning to the end. We had so many fantastic compliments about how they made the time to talk, interact and understand everyone. By the time they left, we were gutted, they felt like old friends.”
the wedding ceremony at St Paul’s in the jewellery quarter
I cannot believe we hadn’t made it inside this place until Dom & Ellen’s wedding. It’s steeped full of history. It’s also quite an intimidating aisle to walk as a bridesmaid, but they did great.
They had Ellen’s best friend to sing during the signing of the schedule, then the ceremony was finished and we all piled out into St Paul’s Square. It was a gorgeous day so there were heaps of other people enjoying this little green oasis. Not every day we get people sunbathing in our church pictures, but we were loving it.
We waved their guests off to Digbeth and hopped in our car to head across town with the bride and groom. (A note of caution before you offer to transport a wedding couple: brides are very glittery. Our car is still sparkling. No regrets).
There really is nothing like walking round Digbeth in your wedding outfits and being congratulated by passing hen parties. We had a great time with these two.
their wedding reception at Fazeley Studios
Fazeley Studios was transformed for this wedding, we love that so many of the decorations were made by these two. Factor in all the florals from Hiya Petal (OBSESSED) and the place was looking peachy.
We’re easily entertained so a table of pic n mix and a few temporary tattoos had us and the kids delighted until the meal.
After dinner were speeches by her Mum, his Dad, two bridesmaids and Dom. We’d been given a tip-off to keep an eye on Dom’s Mum’s reaction when he raised a tequila toast (their wedding favours were tequila bottles with crocheted sombreros!). As it turned out it meant we were poised by the top table when Grandad necked his whole bottle. He didn’t have his glasses on, so apparently he didn’t realise it wasn’t water.
It was a great evening. Dom’s mum made their incredible wedding cakes. The dance floor and the photo booth lived up to expectations. (How gorgeous is the backdrop these two crafted for the booth?).
Their evening food was a BBQ served out in the courtyard. And the night wound on with some on the dancefloor and others chatting outside.
Incredible. Happy anniversary you two- Love Nom x
“They are just phenomenal at what they do, they were so on board with everything we were about, they captured every single emotion we felt and every emotion our guests felt.
From the initial enquiry all the way through to the goodbyes, these guys have been an absolute credit to themselves, perfectly complimenting each other. This obviously was great for us because they smashed it all day and all night.”
