matt & esther’s WEDDING at shustoke barn
It is not every day we get to shout out to our local Indian Takeaway in a wedding story. But today is that day! So thank you to Mother India, Boldmere for making this a very tasty day to look back on.
wedding morning preparations
I love it when we get a good team of vendors on a wedding morning- having Harper and Sarah together made for some extra fun with Esther and her ladies getting ready. You can spot Vanessa, Malc’s sister (Floral Jazz) making an appearance too as she drops off the bouquets.
Malc was having a great time over with the boys, his brother was the Best Man (he and Matt are in a band together). There was just a little hiccough for Matt as the suit hire company had left a security tag on his waistcoat, in a really visible spot too! So he had to take a detour to the shop on the way to the church.
the wedding ceremony at chester road baptist church
The girls travelled in style in this mint green campervan to take them to the church. They met the little page boys when they got there, ready to make their entrance and start the ceremony.
The light in the service was incredible, with a beam of sunshine landing just where Matt & Esther were stood for their vows. A photographer’s dream! They had friends to lead the singing and so many words of blessing spoken over them.
After the ceremony everyone gathered in the foyer for drinks and samosas (which is a genius move!). It was packed full of friends chatting, we could have stayed there a lot longer but it was time to get the confetti and send these two on their way to the wedding reception.
their wedding reception at shustoke barn
We followed the wedding to Shustoke and loved seeing pedestrians waving to them as they drove by. We had a few photos with the camper when we got there then headed into the courtyard for a few quiet photos before the guests arrived. We love that couples can sit under the old olive trees to have a little chat while we snap away.
As guests arrived we gathered up some group photos by a beautiful old brick wall and once everyone was there got the whole group together for a big picture. There was drinks and chatting in the courtyard before Matt & Esther cut the wedding cake (isn’t it a beauty!) and everyone found their seats for the meal.
After tucking into Shustoke’s delicious sharing platters guests sat back to enjoy the speeches. They soared from hilarious to emotional. Of course we were rooting for Jon’s Best Man’s speech and he crushed it.
The evening’s celebrations kicked off with sparklers outside as more guests arrived, then everyone came to the dancefloor for the first dance. The crowd loved the band which made for an excellent party.
Happy anniversary you two- big love, Nom x
