Chris and Katie's Wedding at Highbury Hall, Birmingham
This elegant wedding at Highbury had lots of fun personal details: read on for their beer pong and unique wedding cake! We’ve loved getting to know Katie and Chris at a couple of previous weddings
We got to know Katie and Chris over a couple of previous weddings, so it was fun to see their turn come around… and to see those past couples there as guests!
wedding morning preparations
The dreamy Winter sunlight was the perfect finishing touch to this beautiful day. The getting ready room was full of its warm glow, and Katie’s pals who are a good laugh. It all made for a great time getting ready.
Chris had a room down the corridor for getting ready with the guys. By the looks of things they mostly drank whiskey and had a laugh, which is no bad way to start a wedding day.
the wedding ceremony
Highbury’s ceremony room is ornate but not too big, so it doesn’t feel too intimidating to walk down the aisle. It’s a really special room to get married in. Katie and Chris exchanged their vows in front of all their family and friends. Then outside a tunnel of guests were waiting to throw confetti and cheer on the newlyweds. We kept it brief as it was a bit chilly, so the receiving line and drinks were served in the bar.
We split the group pictures between the gardens and the library, which is a little gem of a location for photos! Then as the sun was about to set we nipped outside again with Katie and Chris. They had time to connect and we caught a few relaxed moments. I really love that little series of photos, there was something magic in the air.
It was great to get back in the warm and catch up with the guests who’d got a game of beer pong going on possibly the fanciest beer pong table of all time.
their wedding reception at highbury hall
Chris and Katie made their entrance down the grand staircase and it was time for the wedding breakfast. Highbury served everyone a hot buffet, and then with satisfied tummies the guests sat back to enjoy the speeches.
Katie and Chris took a huge bite out of their giant wedding cookie, which was such a fun alternative to cutting a wedding cake! Then they had their first dance to open up the dancefloor and get the evening’s celebrations underway. There was plenty of mad dancing, photo booth frolicking and beer pong of course.
You two, happy anniversary. Big love, Nom x
