wedding morning preparations
We met the girls in the morning getting ready at Alice’s parents' house. I love that Alice was in her family home, surrounded by family pictures and all those memories of growing up.
Malc drove over to see the guys at Steve & Alice’s new house, which was still a work in progress. The boys had a cooked breakfast, got ready and headed over to the church.
the wedding ceremony at Trinity Methodist Church, Penarth
The wedding service was in this beautiful, old church. Since there’s no central aisle Alice got to make her entrance with her Dad down one side and walk back out with her brand new husband on the other.
Outside everyone gathered round to congratulate Alice & Steve and we assembled a few family photos together. Alice’s Mum brought along an old photo from a family wedding to show us, isn’t it gorgeous?
S&A hopped in the wedding car and we followed them over the Physic Garden, which is a great outdoor space for photos just down the road from the Bear Hotel.
their wedding reception at the bear, Cowbridge
Guests had gathered upstairs in the Bear for canapes and drinks. We all made our way downstairs for the wedding breakfast and speeches. We love the embroidered details Alice made: table names and name cards all lovingly stitched by the bride.
Steve & Alice cut the cake and had their first dance which signaled the end of their official wedding reception. Weddings were still operating under some Covid restrictions but that didn’t hold these two back. They invited a select bunch of VIPs to join them for the afterparty upstairs with grazing platters. They gave out thank-you gifts and had sweet quiet moments with their closest family and friends. it was a really precious way to end their wedding day.
Happy anniversary you two! - Love Nom & Malc
