Faith & Andrew’s WEDDING at Kings Norton Golf Club

When we first met Andrew and Faith (in a park in Leamington Spa) it was snowing, by the next time it was this incredibly sunny day with bunting fluttering in the breeze.

wedding morning preparations

Faith’s parents’ have the most wonderful hosting style: attentive to each person and their needs and making sure there was way more than enough food. I’m so glad she chose to get ready at their house with the girls. As an added bonus of getting ready in her childhood home we got to take a peek at all the trinkets of her growing up.

Andrew was at their new house with the groomsmen and Malc got some photos of them all in the garden, in the scorching sunshine, and a few sweet snaps as Andrew opened his gift from Faith, which was a photo memory book.

St Nicholas’ is such a beautiful traditional old church. The stained glass looked great on such a sunny day and it was really pleasant to be inside the cool building! The service was really beautiful, with lots of contributions from friends, including playing the music.

It was fun to get a photo of the whole wedding gathered outside in the fun, then we threw confetti and guests headed off for the reception venue. We took a little time with Andrew and Faith to give them a moment to pause as we took photos in the church grounds.

Kings Norton Golf Club has the most fancy entrance hall with a balcony, which is the perfect spot for guests to clap and cheer as the couple arrive. It also had a table of processco for guests as they arrived. Most people were outside enjoying the sunshine on the lawn which slopes down to the lake. It was beautiful!

Inside, the meal was served, with the speeches taking place before dessert because they had a surprise for all their guests as they ate pudding… Singing Waiters. If you haven’t seen Singing Waiters then all you need to know is that they’re a lively bunch and really know how to get the party started, even before the end of your food. Everyone was up and dancing round the room, perfectly warmed up for the evening’s entertainment.

Andrew and Faith had booked two of our favourite musical acts in the same evening! After their beautiful first dance the Burdock Ceilidh Band got the whole room do-si-do-ing. We have so much fun with these guys, especially their wedding signature dance where guests sprinkle good wishes on the happy couple.

When they were finished we were in for a treat with DJ Ed Steelefox. If you’ve been around here for a little while you’ll know we love this guy and the magic he spins on the decks. He’s got a knack of introducing people to their new favourite tunes, which is such a gift at your wedding. This was the middle for us of a run of three weddings with Ed - they all needed something very different on theirs playlists and he nailed it each time.

And during all of that we were also having a silly time in the photo booth, which you can see in this little video.

All good things must eventually come to an end, and what better way to leave your wedding than through a tunnel of all your family and friends who are still standing.

Congratulations you two! What a fantastic day to look back on.
