tom & Imogen’s WEDDING at the mill Barn
What a way to round off our wedding year for 2022… this party was a blast! Keeny and Immy are a lot of fun to hang out with and they invited some of our favourite people as guests too.
wedding morning preparations
Somehow this was our first time at Mill Barn, which is a magical place. There was even a little snow on the ground as we arrived and the huge Christmas tree sparkling in the entrance hall.
Immy was downstairs getting ready with a crowd in a bustling room. Keeny was upstairs with the guys getting nervous. We’re really glad he chose to come down and have a little chat with Immy- without seeing her- it was such a calm moment.
the wedding ceremony at Mill Barn
Isn’t this room a wonderful place to get married? That huge window provides the most beautiful, dynamic backdrop for saying your vows. We loved how they included people in their wedding ceremony with two young guys giving readings and bringing the rings.
Keeny & Immy walked back down the aisle and grabbed a quiet moment to see the room all set up for the meal. Then, once everyone was ready they joined all their guests by the Christmas tree for a big group picture. There was a bit of kerfuffle as a groomsman fainted! But after a brief pause to look after him things carried on with a few more group photos outside by the lake.
The weather was a bit bleak and freezing cold so we opted for couples photos in their room, then just a few outside before retreating back into the warm for dinner.
their wedding advice:
“Ignore social media tips, ignore busybodies and just enjoy the planning and then the day itself.”
their wedding reception
We got to sit with Keeny’s friends for the meal, which was really fun and a bit of an insight into his school years.
The speeches were incredibly touching touching with the perfect tribute to Immy’s brother-in-law, who sadly died not long before the wedding. Everyone raised a jaffa cake as a toast in his honour.
These two were not limited to just one wedding cake. They had a table full of different options including a really retro Christmas cake.
After dark took a few guests and a load of sparklers outside. We love it when our couples take a break in the day to plan in a bit of extra fun.
The evening went large, the credit for that is entirely due to their fun DJ- Immy’s nephew took on a new persona as DJ Forza! It was so much fun putting the kids in charge and the adults really got stuck in.
You two- happy anniversary! When are you coming round for a cuppa? - Big love, Nom x
“ Honestly, you guys did the best job, you kept things on track, kept us calm and helped to shape the day. Thank you so much for the best day. ”
