john & Harriet’s WEDDING at The Tetley, Leeds
With a strong show of John’s Leeds roots and plenty of stylish nods to their London life, this wedding was the perfect combination of Harriet & John.
Look out for all the gorgeous styling and her second dress in the stop-motion wedding movie above!
wedding morning preparations
Harriet and her bridesmaids stayed in a beautiful Airbnb in Leeds city centre. She got the dress on in an upstairs room with a window to spy on those waiting for the big reveal downstairs. We love this brother-sister dynamic and his reaction to first seeing her dress was just perfect.
The men spent the morning in the pub, just round the corner from their venue, the Tetley. The Adelphi was the perfect spot for a couple of drinks and photos with John’s groomsmen, Dad and nephew. Then it was just a short stroll to the ceremony.
Their wedding ceremony at the Tetley
The girls hopped in a taxi to the Tetley and met the younger members of the bridal party outside. Then headed up the stairs to the ceremony.
Isn’t this such a cool room to get married in, the Tetley’s Board Room. Their wedding sign and flowers were the perfect finishing touch.
My favourite thing at weddings might be when something goes just a teeny tiny bit wrong. Things were feeling fairly calm even a little solemn until one of their readers got the author’s name wrong ( Dolly Parton instead of Dolly Anderton if you’re interested) and the whole room got the giggles. It was golden and put everyone so much more at ease. This ceremony felt so personal to these two.
After they signed the register and walked down the aisle John and Harriet took a moment out in a quiet side room. They could watch their friends gathering outside ready for confetti.
The Tetley team served up canapes and drinks out in the sunshine and we got to take some group pictures in front of the building. With the sun shining, drinks flowing and Sam Eaton on guitar it all felt really good.
their wedding breakfast
At dinner each guest had a scratch card and a polaroid of themselves. It was a lot of fun to see people sharing the story behind the photo and trying their luck on the scratch card.
There were team quizzes too, testing their knowledge across the north-south divide. The guests got super into it and the winners got a bottle of bubbly.
The speeches were first from the long top table. Then dinner of pie and mash was served up, which obviously everyone loved. And chocolate brownie to finish, which just about sent us over the edge.
We love the decor in this space. The florals, the neon sign, the family made bunting and Harriet’s brother-in-law made their London underground themed stationery.
Evening entertainment
For the evening we set up the photo booth out by the bar. As evening guests arrived the limbo got going outside. We headed inside to watch J&H cut the cake and spin the first song on the playlist for the first dance.
The highlight of the night? Could be Harriet’s gorgeous second dress, but to be totally honest we’d probably vote for the chip butties. The dress was great though.
Congratulations John & Harriet- hope this brings back heaps happy memories of an incredible day. Love, Nom x
