Sam & Charl’s WEDDING at Thorpe Garden, Tamworth
What a day! The sunshine in those gorgeous gardens, the chocolate brownies of our dreams and dancing to our favourite DJ… it wasn’t just Sam & Charl having the perfect day! I’m so glad we got to capture this one in stop motion, be sure to hit play on the video above.
These two are so much fun- they were so intentional with their wedding planning, crafting the day to be the most fun day for their guests. Check out all the details in our full story of their day…
wedding morning getting ready
The boys were super busy in the morning making packed lunches for everyone to have between the ceremony and the reception. They were so relieved to be done with that they almost forgot to get ready in time for their taxi to the church. One of the groomsmen took charge of the ironing and sorted them all out.
Over at Charl’s parent's’ the girls were having a more chilled time being pampered by hair and make up. We had time for photos in the garden and a good old look at Charl’s Dad’s fish pond.
the wedding ceremony at DUKE STREET CHURCH, Sutton Coldfield
Charl made the cutest entrance with her Dad, pausing briefly to wave to her grandparents who were delighted. Her uncle Simon led the ceremony, he beautifully balanced out the official and personal touches. It was really special for them to get married in this space which has been a big part of their family story (and Nom’s!)
After the vows and readings from both their mums they headed to the foyer to sign the marriage schedule. They’d requested Charl’s grandparents to come and join them so they could have a few quiet moments to greet them away from the busyness and noise of the rest of the guests.
Sam and Charl walked back down the aisle as Mr & Mrs. Guests followed them out to say hi before picking up the packed lunches to have on the journey over to Thorpe Garden. Isn’t that a genius way to keep everyone fed and watered before the sit down meal?
“We chose the top 3 things which were important to us and focused on finding a venue that could deliver!”
their wedding reception at THORPE GARDEN
We arrived first at Thorpe Garden with Sam and Charl so we could get some photos of the two of them. The gardens were on top form, full of flowers, It was great fun to have time to explore. Then as guests arrived they sipped on drinks and we took a few group photos.
The wedding breakfast at Thorpe Garden
We gathered everyone for a big group photo and formed a bubble tunnel to bring all the guests to their tables for dinner. The food was a highlight for Sam & Charl, the Thorpe team served up their signature sharing platers of way too much food. And finished the meal off with towers of brownies and ice cream.
Speeches were interspersed throughout dinner which helped keep everyone’s attention and we even found a little moment to sneak out for a private cake cutting with just the two of them. Let’s take this moment to shout out Vanessa at Floral Jazz (Malc’s sister!) who did their incredible flowers, I think the cake ones might have been my favourite.
Partying all night with DJ ED STEELEFOX
It was the perfect evening for exploring the gardens and sitting by fire pits but we all got sucked onto the dance floor by the magic of DJ Ed spinning his tunes, which is no bad thing. There was pizza to snack on, served right to the dance floor. And for a moment to breathe there were marshmallows to toast in the fire pits.
Way more superlatives than is probably polite, but this day was wonderful. Happy anniversary Sam & Charl. Big love - Nom x
