Alex & Jonny’s WEDDING at Manor Barn, Cambridge

If there was a prize for the most fun bride and groom of 2022 we’d nominate these two. They have a real knack for bringing others into the fun too.

“I think the person that really stole the show was my Grandma with her light up walking stick - she was definitely the centre of attention for most of the reception... and she definitely was loving it. Classic Grandma.”

getting ready for the wedding

These two got married on fireworks night so a crowd of us got together the night before to go see a local display (to get our fix) before turning in for an early night.

Alex’s family had an Airbnb to all get ready together while Jonny and the boys were over at his house. And what do you know, both those houses were full of fun, one had more hairspray than the other though.

Both their dads played a big part in the service. Jonny’s Dad is the pastor of the church they got married in, so he led the vows then Alex’s Dad gave the preach. Check out the backdrop they made for the signing the register, I love it.

At the end of the ceremony, all their guests got together for a group photo then piled into the church hall for cakes and tea. Can we just take a moment to shout out that little underrated section of the day? The amount of love represented by a table piled high with homemade cakes from friends and family, it’s huge.

Everyone joined us outside to make a confetti tunnel as these two headed off in their friend’s car to the reception.

their wedding reception at Manor Barn

We arrived at Manor Barn first with Alex & Jonny so we had a moment to take some photos … with the horses! Then, as guests arrived the team started to serve up canapes and we took a few group photos out in the courtyard.

The speeches and meal were inside the barn. We love the twinkly lights and all of Alex & Jonny’s fun details. They made so many golden animals to hold name cards, and ours are still on our desks as I write this a year later.

The evening was really chilled out. We love that Manor Barn has a cosy corner for people to chat. The band were great and of course this fun bunch were well up for the dancing.

Jonny & Alex left the party through a tunnel of sparklers and excited guests, which was the perfect fun way to finish the celebrations.

YOU TWO- congratulations! Hope you’re having the best day celebrating- Nom x
