charlotte & luke’S civil ceremony at Aston Wood Golf Course
Charlotte & Luke had an evening civil ceremony at Aston Wood Golf Club in lovely Sutton Coldfield. They shaped the whole thing to suit them with a simple ceremony, heaps of snacks and a really relaxed party. They made the most of the winter evening, heading straight from their ceremony to a sparkler tunnel with their guests outside.
When Charlotte and Luke got in touch with us to shoot their civil ceremony they were looking for really relaxed photos. They asked for no organised group pictures to make the most of time with their guests.

Guests gathered at the bar before Charlotte and Luke arrived. People were enjoying their cute display of old family photos from both sides. When guests went through to the ceremony space there were soothing tunes from singer and guitarist Alex Norman, who was a gentle and welcoming presence to start off the official part of the evening.
I’m pretty sure they invited their most outgoing friends to do readings in the ceremony and take the focus off them for a little while. The registrars kept things simple with their declarations then guided them through the official paperwork.

The sparklers were a great way to start the party, switching mode from the formalities to the fun part of the wedding reception. The crowd were happy to celebrate with these two.
Back inside their magician, Owen Strickland, went down a storm, especially with one little kid, who was Owen’s biggest fan. Owen worked the room and the venue served trays of canapes - mini burger anyone?
Charlotte and her Dad both gave speeches, with guests giggling at their jokes, and at Luke’s blushes.
We had a few more minutes outside for some photos of Charlotte and Luke under the festoon lights. Then went back in for more time to mingle and some silly antics in the photo booth. They danced into the night, with a very enthusiastic rendition of the Macarena.
