This has become one of our favourite weddings of the year.
Daz is an old school friend of Malc’s. They hadn’t connected since school and we were so excited with him and Amy chose us to shoot their wedding. And because that wasn’t enough, Daz and Amy were expecting a baby really soon!

We arrived at Birmingham Register Office to meet the families as they came for the last wedding ceremony of the day. Storm Bert was beginning to kick up a fuss, so Amy beat Daz to the register office and hid out of sight with her mum while team Daz battled the bad weather traffic.
It was a short and sweet ceremony. Amy made her entrance with both her parents. She and Daz exchanged vows and rings. Then signed the schedule with their best pals as the witnesses. Guests lined up by the door ready to blow bubbles and celebrate the newly wed.
Storm Bert imposed some last-minute changes for the family group photos but we found a little sheltered spot in the courtyard and dodged the rain. Daz & Amy had special just-married wedding umbrellas, a cute option for making the most of the weather as we walked over to the reception together. It is one of our absolute favourite things when the venues are so close together. Even in the storm, it was fun to take the wedding procession over the bridge together to the Mailbox.

We got some glitzy shots on the stairs of Malmaison, a great idea suggested by Daz & Amy. Then made our way up to their private room with the rest of the guests. It was the perfect space for an intimate wedding reception. They’d put up loads of decorations, with stationery they’d designed together. The table was set with thoughtful personalised gifts for their friends and family.
It felt like an honour to be in the room for the tender, thoughtful speeches. With such a select number of guests, each person got a mention in the speeches. Dinner was served up buffet-style with the most adorable selection of mini-deserts.
This was the perfect wedding for our last one of the year. Thanks for inviting us you two.
