Em & Tom’S WEDDING at Fentham hall in Hampton-in-arden

This wedding was a riot of colour and DIY details. There were personal performances and a whole heap of theatrical moments. It was a total celebration of their backgrounds and Em & Tom’s story as a couple.

Emily and her crew were in a beautiful Airbnb just down the road from the venue in Hampton-in-Arden. They caught a vintage bus to the wedding together.

Tom and his groomsmen got ready at home and also got to ride the bus over from Walsall. But not before for a spot of fishing. Obviously.

At the village hall, the flower girls started the ceremony, presenting roses in memory of lost loved ones to give to family members in the front row. The bridesmaids followed then Emily and her Dad. We love that they lined the aisle with vintage rugs.

The ceremony was super dramatic with theatrical readings and heaps of emotion. Tom and Emily said their vows on the stage led by an actor friend who presided with so much heart. There was a fishing rod guard of honour from Tom’s fishing teammates to end the formalities, then a big group photo with all the guests.

Tom and Emily snuck off for a few quiet moments in the dressing room before joining their family on the bus for group photos. This was an great way to add real character to the group photos and set aside a bit of personal time with each little group. Back in the hall guests packed into the bar where there were samosa snacks and drinks. Emily’s brother took a turn on the mic for a few songs, then her uncle and aunt did a few folky numbers including a song they wrote specially for the day.

Meanwhile, Emily’s amazing friends completely transformed the ceremony room for the meal, laying long tables and setting each guest’s place with a hand-painted stone (shout out to Sophie for creating all of those). The top table took their seats up on the stage and everyone’s favourite local pie shop Pieminister served up pie and mash.

With full bellies, the crowd settled in for speeches from Tom’s uncle, Emily’s Best Man, Tom’s Best Man, Emily and finally Tom. There were more than a few puns (and a side-splitting character assassination by Tom’s uncle) to get things started followed up with deep thanks and emotional thank yous.

Then, in a wedding first for us, Tom and Emily had a ceremonial quiche cutting. When you know that Emily’s mum makes the best quiche in the world that makes total sense. It was a fun moment to signal the end of the meal.

The evening started with Tom and Emily singing a Johnny and June Carter Cash‘s Time’s a Wastin’. Then her brothers sang for their first dance. They’d hired confetti canons for the second song, to get everyone excited for the party. And it was a fun night, with a playlist of bangers and even a little Irish folk dancing.

Guests could pop by the glitter bar for a face sparkle then head over to our photo booth with their favourite people for some silly pictures. Outside Pro Roast events served up the hog roast with sides of mac n cheese (delicious!). They even had the “toaster coaster” - a toast machine (and an army of spreads) for everyone to sort themselves out a nice reviving slice of toast.
