Rose & Steve’S WEDDING, Lighthouse and Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel
Rose is a sweet friend of ours, so we were delighted when the handsome Steve asked her to marry him and they asked us to photograph it happening! And what a bonus to be shooting at two really local venues with lots of our favourite people as guests.
wedding morning preparations at home
Team bride were getting ready at Rose’s parents’ house when we arrived. Her Dad was out running some final errands while the bridesmaids had their hair and make up finished up. Rose’s niece and nephew (page boy and flower girl) were around, keeping everyone entertained.
Steve got to the church early to help set up, so Malc met him and the groomsmen there. There were button holes to be put onto jackets and finishing touches around the building. We loved their DIY photo display as guests came in the front door.

It was so good to see Rose walk down the aisle at Lighthouse Church! There was a whole lot of excitement in the crowd. Rev Trev led them through their vows, then Steve’s friend shared a few thoughts. We loved singing under the twinkling festoon lights.
At the end R&S wanted to head outside with their extended families for some photos. With that finished they could come back in and spend time greeting their guests. They’d laid on quite a spread: sandwiches, crisps, cake and drinks.
Everyone came outside to wave them off with confetti… and Rose and Steve hopped into our car to drive over to the venue. Sometimes we get to be the taxi, and we love it!

The four of us arrived at Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel just in time for a few photos in the grounds of the hotel before the rain THREW IT DOWN. We had a good laugh dashing back in out of the rain and drying off with a drink and the other guests. There was time to mingle and chat in the hotel lounge before guests were ushered across to the marquee. Rose and Steve took the moment for a few more pictures around the hotel. Not sure what this grand room upstairs would have been used for back in the day, but it felt very special to be swanning around there in their wedding outfits.
Guests braves the rain and dashed over to the huge marquee. Rose and Steve got a huge welcome as they made their entrance. Dinner was served and then it was time for the speeches. Rose’s Dad had props, their best man had jokes and Steve had a lot of thank yous. Malc made a little pal during the speeches who was entertained by him crouching to take photos, it made for a very sweet (and hushed) little friendship.
Rose and Steve cut the cake on the dancefloor and went straight into their first dance. Rose and her Dad had a special dance too, then our mate DJ Ed got the tunes spinning and the dance floor quickly got a little wild. There was a fair bit of ties on heads and silliness for us to capture.
