Sam & holly’S WEDDING in Eccleshall Woods Sheffield

Their engagement photos

We loved meeting the two for engagement photos in Birmingham at Winterbourne House. We had a great time getting to know them and chatting about trees, so we couldn’t wait to see them again at their wedding.

And there were plenty more trees since Sam and Holly got married in Eccleshall Woods!

This is a 10/10 wedding, in the wild, with heaps of homemade details. They even had a mix-your-own confetti table!

wedding morning preparations at the Kenwood hall hotel

Holly got ready with her bridesmaids at the Kenwood. Her mum and grandma popped in once she was in her dress and we had time to chat before making our way out to the taxis.

Malc met Sam down at the woods. He had trusty Fisherman’s Friends all day and kept offering them to Malc. He’s a charmer for sure.

the wedding ceremony in eccleshall woods

Jacob was a first rate flower boy and kicked off the bridal party’s entrance down the board walk to the ceremony. Sam and Holly stood at the centre of the ceremony with guests surrounding them and the backdrop of the woods, the perfect spot for these two. Sam’s Dad and Holly’s Grandma both delivered fun readings. And the registrar led them through their vows, hitting the sweet spot between relaxed and life-changing-legal-commitment.

After the official bits were tied up everyone took to the boardwalk round to a small grassy area. We grabbed a group photo of them all together then released them to the drinks and snacks: Krispy Kreme doughnuts and a wall of crisps. By now you can surely see why we love Sam and Holly!

We took a few more group photos, had a bit of time to mingle, and then headed into the woods for some photos of Sam in his natural environment! He led us to his favourite old knotted tree root for some pictures of the two of them and threw in a few fun tree facts to keep us all going.

They made their entrance to the wedding breakfast, once more along the boardwalk, this time to the top table. They had banqueting tables spilling out of the ceremony room onto the decking, and the bar running in the covered area just next door.
Dinner was tasty food from the The Greedy Greek.

Fun in the photo booth

Outside guests had pints and games to keep them occupied. We loved their homemade throwing games with a strong Sheffield theme. If you know our surname you’ll understand our affiliation with a certain Sheffield-made sauce!

The band got set up and we were all go for a night of excellent bluegrass, folky hits. Highly recommend Hyde Family Jam if you’re looking for that kind of thing. The crowd matched their energy, so it was an incredible evening.

A highlight of our night was Sam and few of the guys from Five Rivers Morris taking to the floor for a few minutes. There’s real beauty in watching people be themselves and do something they truly love. And who doesn’t love a spot of Morris dancing at a Morris dancers wedding!

“ They are INCREDIBLY talented photographers, perfectly capturing the atmosphere of the day without putting any pressure on guests to pose. Their friendly manner and helpful natures also helped to make the day so special - they both really go above and beyond and embrace the chaos of a wedding day! I could not recommend them more highly!! ”
