MATT & LAUREN’S WEDDING

I can't remember a wedding this hot in a long time. Matt and Lauren got married in an outdoor wedding at Arley House and gardens, and it was almost too hot to stay out! I'm so glad we got to record their wedding in stop motion so you can catch a glimpse of all these lovely details... and the guests fanning themselves to stay cool.

wedding preparations

Lauren got ready with her bridesmaids. They had a hair and makeup team to make for a really relaxing morning. I loved the thoughtful gifts boxes Lauren had made for her girls complete with wedding balloons!

Malc headed over to join the guys getting ready. Matt and the groomsmen had time for some photos in the garden at his parents' house.

The ladies took a minute to cool off when they arrived at Arley House. The guests were seated out on the lawn either side of the incredibly long aisle. It was beautiful to hear the harp playing and birds singing as the ceremony got started. The registrars took Matt & Lauren through their vows in the shade, then guests took the chance of a spot of shade while they signed the register.

I love how the stop motion captures the flurry of confetti as they headed down the aisle and guests walking over to get refreshments. There was time for some group photos under the shade of a huge tree and a walk through the woods for photos with Matt & Lauren. It was the perfect day to be in the dappled light of the trees.

Wedding reception

Inside blossom trees were the perfect decoration for the tables as guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast and speeches. It was so good to have refreshing melon and ice cream on the menu as well as air-con in the room!

We raised glasses of Buck's Fizz to toast the happy couple and headed outside for a group photo with all the guests.

Evening entertainment

Our fave DJ Ed Steelfox played the first dance and got the tunes on. We loved watching him work his DJ magic even from inside as guests danced outside on the grass in the evening sunshine. I know it was one of Matt & Lauren's favourite parts of the day too! No wonder he’s one of our recommended suppliers.

Guests sat out on the lawn chatting as the sun went down and it felt like the perfect end to this scorching hot wedding day.
