JAKE AND HEATHER’S WEDDING
We are in love with the simple elegance of this wedding on such a sunny day.
Nom joined the bridesmaids at Heather’s parents’. Their hairdresser was there doing Heather’s hair, while at every bathroom mirror the girls were doing their makeup. They served up a tasty lunch then Heather’s Mum helped her into the wedding dress. We had a first look with her Dad, then headed into the garden to show the bridesmaids. And Heather’s sweet cat came to see her before we headed off!
The guys were at the church, St George’s Ashtead, early so Malc was able to get photos of them hanging out together before Jake’s little nephew came along to steal the limelight. When ladies arrived in the wedding car verger Mark was on hand to help hide Heather from the guests arriving using his robes.
Inside, the church was full of their nearest and dearest. Jake and Heather made their vows and exchanged wedding rings. The service was fun and full of heart felt singing, with friends leading the worship on stage. They headed into a back room to sign the registers while Heather’s brother sang for the guests.
Guests made a tunnel outside with confetti as Jake and Heather left for their wedding reception. We arrived at The Dell Centre with them before the rest of the guests so we could have time to take photos in the garden.
It was a baking hot day, and guests were greeted with an incredible table of welcome drinks. After some family group photos we headed inside. The room was beautifully decorated with hundreds of hand made paper flowers and hanging floral hoops. Each table was piled high with Italian food and large sharing dishes kept being served, the food was wonderful.
The speeches were very entertaining. Heather’s Dad got the ball rolling, followed by Jake’s parents (who also shared a special video message). Jake took his turn but the main highlight was his two best men. They finished off the speeches with some acting to tell the story of Jake and Heather’s relationship. Somehow they worked on screen gaming and personal text messages into a dreamscape, with plenty of jokes. The whole room loved it.
It was time to cut the cake and head into the marquee. Jake and Heather had their first dance under a large glitter ball and soon their guests packed the dance floor. After dark it was time to make another exit tunnel and wave goodbye to Jake and Heather as they set off in a taxi.
