Brockholes Nature Reserve was the perfect setting for this calm and relaxed wedding celebration. It’s so peaceful with views out across the water and lots of walking areas to explore. Paul and Emily were super relaxed, having already got legally married this was their chance to celebrate in a low-key ceremony with heaps of sweet kids around to keep the fun levels up!

Emily got ready with her sisters and sweet baby nephew at her parents’ house. It was a real treat to have her Grandmas waiting downstairs to see her as soon as she was ready. We all bundled into a couple of cars and enjoyed the drive over to the venue chatting and sharing stories.

At Brokeholes it was fun to watch guests arriving down the long walkway to the floating venue. The wood-clad room is really peaceful with water on three sides. Emily and Paul walked into the ceremony together with a flock of flower girls and page boys. The little ones kept us all entertained through the ceremony, gathering up the scattered confetti petals and asking funny questions of the bridge and groom. There was a lot of fun planned in with action songs, a really casual sermon and fun prayers. We loved that the room felt like one big family having fun together.

Afterwards, we had drinks in the foyer and some group photos out by the water. Guests could go for stroll and relax in the beautiful surroundings. Dinner was served as a beautiful buffet and we took our seats back in the ceremony room now decorated with large round tables. Emily and Paul had made placenames for each guest with their photo on, so it was fun to wander round spotting all the different faces.
The fun continued with fun speeches and party games. They played pass the parcel at high speed and a big game of human bop-it went down really well. A couple of friends played chilled-out music and there was a spot of dancing and a lot of chatting. It was the perfect relaxed celebration for this sweet couple.
