Zach & Del’s WEDDING, Aberystwyth
This was our first full wedding in over a year and there was such an exciting atmosphere getting everyone together to celebrate. It was a lot of fun to head back to our old University town of Aberystwyth for a weekend in the sun.
wedding morning preparations
Del got ready with her bridesmaids in her student house. There were the sweetest video calls with relatives in New Zealand who couldn’t join in person.
Meanwhile, the guys got ready nearby and headed to the pub for a breakfast of champions.
Zach and Del had a quiet first look on bridge just down the road from her house. It was so sweet to see the nerves drop away as they had a chance to chat before the ceremony. I love getting a quiet, front-row to these personal moments.
Wedding ceremony at St Mikes
They got married at St Mike’s which was our old stomping ground and it was great to be back. They specialise in warm welcomes!
The service was a fun one with wonderful friends contributing the music and readings.
Afterwards we all spilled outside into the sunshine. We gathered everyone for a few group photos, then lined up for a tunnel of confetti to their wedding car.
We followed Zach & Del up into the Welsh hills and stopped to take photos of the two of them for a little while before heading over to the Hafod Hotel for the wedding reception.
Their reception at the hafod hotel
We loved how relaxed and intimate the wedding breakfast felt. There was a lovely warm atmosphere as people sat and chatted with the candles flickering. Relatives who couldn’t make it to the wedding had iced biscuits as wedding favours which were beautiful.
The meal finished with speeches, which were sweet and entertaining. It felt like everyone in the room has just pulled up a chair to listen. After Zach & Del cut the cake the evening wound down and we all headed home. A wonderful end to a chilled out wedding.
