DAN & ELL’S WEDDING

This wedding was a delight to photograph! Not only is Compton Verney a dream venue but we've know Ell for years. In fact, we’re pretty much in love with Ell’s style: her flowers, dress, and the wedding stationery she designed.

Their Engagement Photos

at Compton Verney

I joined Ell getting ready with her bridesmaids at her parents' house. I love their reactions as they see Ell in her dress for the first time, especially her Dad’s face- it makes my day!

They put the finishing touches to Ell’s outfit with the veil and the girls had some time to drink fizz and chat before setting off. The neighbours had gathered outside the house to wave them off- getting ready at home has so many sweet perks. Ell & her parents drove to the wedding together which gave them a chance to chat before the day got really busy.

The wedding ceremony At Compton Verney

Malc joined the guys as they got ready and toasted the day with a few beers before heading to the venue.

The chapel at Compton Verney has been recently renovated and it’s full of light. It’s the perfect backdrop for their gorgeous floral arrangements. We loved the view from the balcony and the sounds of the string quartet. The ceremony felt so intimate with the guests seated so near to the couple as they said their vows.

The celebrations got started with confetti showering down as Mr & Mrs walked outside for champagne and beers with their crows. Malc lined up some relaced family groups inside as I took some candid photos with guests and canapes outside.

Down in the main building guests can explore the galleries before it’s time to take their seats. We took the chance to sneak outside with Dan & Ell. It’s amazing how much impact just 15-20 minutes can have on a wedding day. we love being able to create a space for our couples to connect and catch up. And we can get some really relaxed photos of them enjoying being together. The grounds of Compton Verney were perfect for this.

Their wedding reception in the Adam Hall

Inside the long tables looked gorgeous with simple, elegant decorations and foliage. After a delicious meal, they got cracking with the speeches and toasts with Aperol Spritz. There were of course plenty of blushes. My absolute favourite moment of the day was a toast to a baby bump which would become Ell & Dan's niece- Sam & Clare's baby Esther.

The evening

The courtyard is the perfect spot for a chilled wedding evening. Guests sat around the firepits with drinks while others played croquet on the lawn.

The room sparkled with fairy lights for the first dance. This crowd was a little rowdy at times- no complaints here! They were such a fun bunch to dance with. If you watch the photos right to the end you'll spot one of the most amusing moments of our 2019!
