MATT & HANNAH’S WEDDING
A whole year since this wedding at The Botanical Gardens Birmingham. Here’s the full story of their wedding day, it feels like a window on to another world!
getting ready for the wedding
Hannah’s parents’ house was buzzing all morning with a makeup studio in the lounge, hair being done in the conservatory and the cutest toddler on facetime to show us her dress for the big day. Tucked away from the noise, upstairs her Dad was on the phone to the honeymoon company seeing what was happening to their plans.
Down the road at Matt’s Grandma’s Malc was with the boys as they got ready. And waving them off in a stretch hummer (with Grannie on board) to go to the church.
Wedding ceremony at St Peter and St Paul's, Kingsbury
I love these moments with the girls, waiting outside the church for Hannah and her Dad to arrive in the wedding car, then the walk up the path to the ceremony. The hustle outside the church door as inside everything falls quiet. It felt like everyone inside had that same feeling of anticipation and excitement just before they walked down the aisle.
The church service was peaceful, with a choir to sing and a simple exchange of vows and rings. Afterwards, everyone piled out to greet them with hugs and kisses, then gathered at the end of the path to throw confetti as they got into the wedding car.
“Not just amazing photos but genuinely lovely photographers that make the awkward experience of having your photo taken a million times easier. They're personable and work really hard to get the best shots for your special day.
100% would recommend, will use again for my next wedding...”

wedding reception at Birmingham Botanical gardens
We made it to the Botanical Gardens with Matt and Hannah ahead of their guests for some photos exploring the gardens. There’s so much choice for photo locations, from the glass houses to the aviary and heaps of spring flowers in between. We even spotted the resident peacocks.
The guests arrived on the wedding double decker and the drivers offered Matt & Hannah a go in the cab. Then they formed a receiving line to welcome their guests through the glasshouse and into the gardens. We gathered some formal groups before it was time for canapes and dinner.
This space is just gorgeous for a wedding reception, with their real flower wedding cake as the perfect finishing touch on this flower-packed wedding.
As guests chatted over drinks and canapes Stuart, The Wedding Painter started building the atmosphere of his painting. He kept a watchful eye over the room as the scene developed during the food and speeches.
We loved Hannah & Matt’s top table looking across the room from higher level. From where they could see all the family antics going on around the room.
Wedding evening entertainment
This party really came into its own after dinner, with dancing and more guests arriving. There was a lot of fun on the dancefloor, and in the photo booth AND at their custom beer pong table (which they DIYed).
Congratulations Matt & Hannah. So glad you guys were able to marry when you did… little did we know! Happy anniversary, here’s to many years and more fun adventures - Nom x

“Couldn't be more pleased that we picked Nom & Malc to photograph our wedding day! They bring a perfect mix of professionalism and laid back friendliness and they made us (and all our guests) feel so comfortable on the day. They are brilliant at what they do and the package they provide is great value, particularly given how flexible they are with timings and the great addition of the photo booth in the evening. Thank you so much!”
