DAVID AND EMMA’S WEDDING
We love our job! What a joy to be back in Aberystwyth enjoying the sunset from the golf club... and call it work! David & Emma graduated from Aber like we did and choose St Michael's church as the perfect spot of the their wedding.
Emma and her bridesmaids loved having their hair done at the Eden salon. It was a lovely pampering experience in very capable hands. Her dad didn't get in on the pampering but joined the fun and came back to Clarach with Emma and the girls. The ladies got ready with the most perfect views across to the hills.
The guys stayed much closer to the church. They were there ready early and had time for some photos at the castle ruins before taking their places for the ceremony. ‘The Vic’ Steve was there ready and waiting for the bridal party to arrive and lead them down the aisle.
Emma’s Dad gave her away and her sister held the rings. Rev. Steve really put them at ease as he took them through their vows, then handed over to Mones who spoke very warmly about marriage. Friends gathered round to pray for them, they signed the registers and zoomed outside. They greeted everyone in the carpark and some family photos with the gorgeous Old College building in the background. Guests lined the way to the car to sprinkle them with homemade confetti of camomile and lavender, which smelled so good.
David and Emma planned a drive out into the countryside before the wedding reception. Emma’s Aunty has the perfect car for weddings, with champagne on board. It was a gorgeous sunny day and birds were singing over head. We found a lovely quiet spot to stop and get some photos. It was really precious to have some peaceful time away from the excitement.
The golf club was beautifully decorated with bunting and seashells. Table by table guests were served hog roast outside then took their seats. David’s sister had made loads of lovely cheesecakes for dessert. Speeches by Emma’s Dad, the Best Man and David followed the food. Then David’s parents prayed for the couple as they started their marriage, which was the perfect way to round off the seated part of the reception.
Friends had made and decorated the wedding cake (with the cutest sheep cake topper). David and Emma cut the cake then everyone made their way outside. There are views from the golf course across the town and out to sea, a perfect spot to relax. The band set up up and the party got started. David and Emma had a sweet first dance and really got stuck in on the dance floor. Guests came and went between the dance floor and the lovely evening outside. The sunset was beautiful and eventually it was time for the new Mr & Mrs to leave through a tunnel of their friends.
